About Us

In 2016 we bought a two-bedroom terrace property in Somerset. While we didn’t buy intending it to be a renovation project, the amount of work needed to get it the rooms looking at how we wanted them has certainly meant it’s felt like it!

As is the case with many older properties, often taking rooms apart uncovered more problems than it solved. Over the last five years, we’ve ripped up carpets, knocked out fireplaces, had the central heating removed and then replaced to another room, found Victorian tiles, found damp, painted, scrubbed and scrapped.

Slowly we’re getting there. Several rooms are now complete and I’ll be adding before and after pictures and posts as and when I can. There is still much to be done though, including what will be one of our biggest projects to date, the kitchen.

And of course, all of this has been while working full time and looking after our little one. It’s certainly been an experience!

As we saved up such a huge deposit for our home, out story has been featured in the media – you can read more here:
