The colour grey has been very popular in recent years for people’s homes, to the point where often others might give them a bit of stick for it.
But, there are certainly some advantages to having neutral tones in your home, one of them being that it makes it super easy to change things up without having to redecorate. Grey, for example, can easily be accented with many different colours – all you need to do is purchase a few new cushions and throws and no one needs to even think about picking up a paintbrush.
The same goes for artwork around your home. With neutral in the background, you can use art to add pops of colour without worrying about colours clashing.
While most people chose to display photographs in their homes, it’s also nice to add some artwork as well. It can be a great way to add some personality to your decor, whether it’s something bold and abstract or a more subtle nod to your favourite movie (or in my case, one of my favourite T.V series).
What We Choose From Photowall
First of all, I chose this beautiful print which is inspired by the children’s book, Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. I love children’s literature and this one is, of course, is a classic.
While I love the print itself, I decided it was a little dark for our four-year-old daughter’s unicorn and rainbow-filled purple princess-themed bedroom, so it currently hangs in our dining room.
This is the sort of art I could fill our home with although my husband isn’t quite so keen – my first choice would have been one of the many beautiful Moomin-themed images from Photowall but they freak Pete out so unfortunately that was a no-go!
Next, I chose this simple Carrie Bradshaw quote from Sex And The City. I am a huge SATC fan (although I do realise aspects of the original show were problematic) and I write about money for a living so when I saw this quote I just knew I had to have it.
There are thousands of quotes available from Photowall in a range of different mediums, including framed posters like the one I chose, but also in wallpapers and canvases too, so there should be something to suit both your taste and your home from religious, to fun, to inspirational.
What We Loved About Photowall
One of the things we loved about Photowall was being able to order a frame when we ordered the print. There is a poster under our stairs that we ordered when we moved into our house seven years ago, that is still rolled up in the box because we haven’t been able to find a frame that fits. We didn’t want to cut it and we just haven’t gotten around to getting one custom-made.
The ease of choosing a frame that we knew would fit at the same time as ordering our prints was a massive win for us and there is also a range of finishes to choose from, so you should be able to find something that suits your style and your home.
Frames are made from wood and acrylic rather than glass as this means they are easier to transport and are much less likely to arrive at your home damaged. And once they are up on the wall, there honestly isn’t any way to tell the difference anyway.
