I love sale shopping and this week I was excited to pick up this bargain macrame swing chair from B&M. It’s the perfect addition to our pergola!
Now we’re in the six weeks holidays, it may feel as though the summer is slowly starting to draw to a close and that Autumn is fast approaching.
However, this is the perfect time of year to get some bargains when it comes to items for your home, and especially your garden.
While you may only get a few months of use out of it now, it means you’ll have your lovely new items ready for next summer too and at a much smaller cost!
Earlier this week we were taking a look around John Lewis at Cribbs Causeway and our daughter loved the hanging egg chairs (I love that John Lewis is happy for kids to give them a try!)
As lovely as these are, they were wayyyyy out of our price range being around £300 even in the sale. Even budget versions in places like B&M are still around £150.
So, instead, we opted for this lovely Macrame Swing chair instead. Not quite the same, and not nearly as fancy, but still a lovely addition to our garden.
Even better, it was reduced to just £12 in the sale. The one pictured here is cream but we ended up buying grey to go with the rest of our decked area, although in hindsight the cream might have given a better contrast. We live and learn, eh?
Anyway, after getting the swing home, we did encounter a bit of a hiccough. It didn’t come with any type of fittings. At all.
So much for getting it up as soon as we got home!
Amazon to the rescue where we ordered a swing hanging kit for £11.99 (plus £3 delivery, no I don’t have Prime!) which meant it cost more than the swing itself. Good job the swing was a bargain!
The swing hanging kit is actually really good and means we can move the swing easily, so we could change which side of the pergola it’s on if we wanted to or even take it camping and hang it from a tree.
I’m so pleased with this overall, it’s such a lovely addition to our garden and at a bargain price too! It’s also made me really keen to give this area of the garden a much-needed tidy up and I plan to buy a nice garden rug to add too.
